More Money, No Problems
As our nation has progressed and evolved over the years, society has increasingly become more obsessed with money. In a recent survey, Forbes magazine reports that the wealthier you are, the more satisfied you are with your social life (Gachman 1). It was found that, “...couples earning $5 million or more are giddier on a day-to-day basis than people making $100,000 or less” (Gachman 1). As our worlds have more and more becoming obsessed with the possession of money, our happiness has become dependent on it.
It does not matter how much money is in your bank because in the end, that amount no matter the number, can never satisfy us enough. Because our happiness and well-being has become dependent on money we are now always searching for more. We are never able to focus on the now and be satisfied with what we have, there always has to be more. What ever happened to following your dream? As our world revolves around money, society’s main focus in life is no longer to follow your dream, but to choose the job that will support you financially the best. Our selfish, greedy world has lost the ability to focus on the now and achieve well-being and happiness through what we have. That is never enough. There always has to be more. We are always in a constant need for more.
